Radio presenter Sizwe Dhlomo reacted to the news that former radio presenter Unathi Nkayi had been allegedly arrested for drunk driving.
Dhlomo reshared the Sunday Times’ post with the eyes emoji, and from there, people started weighing in on his response.
Some users felt that Dhlomo has a problem with Nkayi and urged him to leave her alone.
@KhaiJorge said: “Clearly unengxaki…. Leave this woman alone, we know you don’t like her.. but yuuuh ha.a excuse yourself.”
Nkayi and Dhlomo have a history; in 2021, they had a major public falling-out at Kaya 959, where they were both presenters at the time.
Nkayi was immediately dismissed following a dispute in which she had accused Dhlomo of verbal abuse and unprofessional conduct. Dhlomo refuted the allegations by providing Human Resources with studio recordings of the altercation, which disproved Nkayi’s claims.
Dhlomo responded to @KhaiJorge’s tweet, acknowledging that they were correct in their claim. “You’re 100 % correct! I do have a problem with false accusers, drunk drivers & liars. So should you actually,” he tweeted.
The SizTheWorld presenter has been open about his thoughts on his fallout with Nkayi and where he stands with her. In a second response on X, Dhlomo said: “She’s getting exactly what she deserves. I’m unapologetic about that.”
Speaking on L-Tdo’s podcast, in 2024, Dhlomo revealed that he hadn’t seen Nkayi since she left the station. Nkayi is embroiled in a lengthy legal battle with Kaya 959.
“That was personal. If I didn’t have my ducks in a row, luckily I always do, then my career could have been ruined, that one I don’t take lightly, that’s to the death.”
