The MK Party has ordered former national spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela to immediately stop using party resources and channels after removing him from his spokesperson and Member of Parliament roles.
Party president Jacob Zuma and secretary-general Sibonelo Nomvalo announced Ndhlelaās dismissal at a media briefing on Monday. A letter seen by IOL cited allegations of misconduct, fomenting division within the party and bringing the MK Party into disrepute.
The letter directs Ndhlela to hand back all party property within seven days, including documents, electronic devices, passwords, access credentials and his membership card. It also instructs him to refrain from representing the party in any official capacity pending the outcome of an internal investigation, and explicitly forbids access to party bank accounts, digital platforms and public-media systems. The correspondence was copied to Chief Whip Mmabatho MokoenaāZondi.
At the same briefing, the MK Party announced Sifiso Mahlangu ā a former editor of The Star, academic and media figure ā as its new national spokesperson. The party said Mahlanguās appointment is intended to bolster its communications amid growing political pressure.
