Lady Gaga and fiancé Michael Polansky welcomed their daughter, Rose, through a surrogate, TMZ has learned.
The couple’s daughter — whose full legal name is Rose Bean Polansky — was born on June 9 at 11:19 PM PT in Los Angeles.
It’s not clear why the singer chose surrogacy, though she has long been open about her struggles with fibromyalgia, a chronic condition marked by severe pain and exhaustion. Gaga spoke about her health journey in her 2017 Netflix documentary “Gaga: Five Foot Two,” expressing hope that others living with chronic pain would feel less alone.
In a 2020 conversation with Oprah Winfrey, she said she was “in head-to-toe pain” even during the interview itself. By 2025, Gaga said her fibromyalgia was under control, though she still experiences occasional “pain days.”
Rose’s name appears to carry personal significance for the singer — Gaga has a rose tattoo on her back, a nod to her performance of “La Vie En Rose” in “A Star Is Born,” while her hit song “Born This Way” drew inspiration from LGBTQ+ activist Carl Bean.
The delivery was handled by Dr. Robert Katz, the same OB-GYN who assisted Ciara and Russell Wilson with the birth of their daughter, Sienna.
The first public glimpse of baby Rose came over the weekend, when photos surfaced showing Gaga carrying the swaddled infant during a walk with Polansky. The couple, who got engaged in 2024, have kept a low profile in recent weeks, giving themselves time to bond with their newborn.
