Ghanaian-American Man Steals Show at Donald Trump Rally in Kentucky

Posted on October 18, 2026

Wisdom Atta Kumah, a Ghanaian-American man, has gained notoriety when he gave a heartfelt speech of support to US President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Kentucky, claiming that the president had transformed his life.

Speaking to the media at the protest before of the nation’s midterm elections, Kumah claimed to have immigrated from Ghana to the US in 2018 and subsequently obtained US citizenship. He called Trump “the greatest leader of our time” and exhorted him to disregard criticism and keep doing what he thinks is best for the nation.

“You are the greatest leader of our time. There’s nobody like you. Avoid the noise. You are doing the right thing,” Kumah told the president.

Personal story of gratitude

Kumah said he had followed Trump’s political career while still living in Ghana and claimed that his financial situation had improved significantly after Trump returned to the White House.

“When I came here in 2018, you were the president. Things were going on well. When you left, my life fell down like a stock market. But when you came back, that same year, I bought a house. I’m now on my way to get a second home,” he said.

He did not provide details about his finances or explain how Trump’s policies had directly contributed to his reported property purchases. However, his story quickly resonated with supporters at the rally, many of whom praised his enthusiasm and openly expressed admiration for the president.

Prayers and comparison to Jesus

Kumah also offered prayers for Trump, asking God to grant him wisdom, knowledge and the strength to endure criticism from opponents.

“May the Lord keep you. May the Lord provide you. May the Lord support you. May the Lord give you wisdom, knowledge, endurance to endure the pain from the haters,” he said.

He then compared the criticism Trump faces to the opposition Jesus Christ encountered, arguing that attacks from critics should not discourage the president from pursuing his goals.

“They hate Jesus Christ. They hate Jesus because he was doing the right thing. Anything that people hate, meaning what you are doing something. Haters attack you because you are doing the right thing. Keep doing the right thing,” Kumah said.

His remarks drew strong reactions on social media, with supporters describing him as a passionate patriot, while critics questioned the comparison and the claims linking his personal finances to Trump’s leadership.

Rally in Kentucky

The rally was reportedly held at Truist Arena in Highland Heights, Kentucky, on October 17, 2026, as Trump campaigned for Republican candidates ahead of the US midterm elections.

Kumah concluded his message by reiterating his admiration for Trump and expressing his desire to meet the president in person for the first time.

“I love you, Mr President. May God be with you. I can’t wait to see you for the first time in my life. I’m so grateful,” he said.

His appearance has since gone viral, with videos of his speech circulating widely online and sparking debate about immigration, political loyalty and the influence of Trump’s message among African immigrants in the United States.
