Nigerian social media personality Blessing CEO has publicly apologised to Nigerians, saying she regrets making comments about other people’s pain without understanding their experiences. Her apology came in an emotional video posted on Tuesday, November 3, days after she was released from detention and following the death of her son, Brian.vanguardngr
In the video, Blessing appeared visibly distressed and described herself as broken and exhausted. She said the recent events had taught her painful lessons and that she now recognised the limits of speaking carelessly about matters she had not personally lived through.
“I’m so sorry for speaking about the pain I’ve never felt. I’m realising that talk is cheap. Action speaks louder than voice,” she said.
The apology follows renewed criticism of Blessing’s past public statements. She had previously faced backlash over comments made during the domestic violence dispute involving the late Bimbo Ogbonna and her husband, IVD, as well as repeated criticism of May Edochie during her marital crisis.
Blessing also faced controversy in 2026 after claiming she had stage four breast cancer and asking the public for donations. The appeal drew scrutiny after questions were raised about the medical report she presented. She later clarified that she did not have a confirmed stage four diagnosis.
In her latest message, Blessing also paid tribute to her late son, whom she called “Doom Doom.” She said she missed him deeply and promised to correct her past mistakes.
“I miss you, Brian. I miss you so much, and I promise to correct every wrong,” she said.
She further revealed that her mother has been struggling to cope with the loss. According to Blessing, the two of them sometimes hide from each other so they can cry privately.
Describing the apology as an attempt to retrace her steps, Blessing compared herself to the biblical prodigal son. She said she was not ashamed of returning home and wanted to find her way back.
“I’m not ashamed of coming back home. I just want to find my way back,” she added.
The video has generated mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians welcoming the apology while others remain sceptical, citing her history of controversial public remarks.
