🚨 BREAKING: Ex-CIA Official Arrested — $40M in Gold Bars Found at His Home
In one of the most jaw-dropping intelligence scandals in recent U.S. history, former senior CIA official David Rush has been arrested after FBI agents discovered 303 gold bars worth over $40 million stashed inside his Virginia residence.
Agents also seized $2 million in cash and 35 luxury watches — many of them Rolexes — during a search of his home on May 18.
According to court documents, Rush had requested tens of millions of dollars in gold bars and foreign currency from his employer between November 2025 and March 2026, claiming they were needed for “work-related expenses.” His employer — later confirmed to be the CIA — could not locate the assets or determine their intended use. Investigators found only a portion of the funds near his office. The rest? Hidden at home.
Rush now faces charges of criminal theft of public money. But the alleged crimes don’t stop there. He is also accused of lying about his academic credentials for nearly two decades — falsely claiming a degree from Clemson University to obtain a Navy commission — and filing fraudulent military leave claims worth $77,000.
As of now, Rush remains in custody. A detention hearing is scheduled for June 5 in the Eastern District of Virginia. Both the FBI and CIA say the investigation is ongoing.
The biggest question still unanswered: Why did he have it all?
