Japan: A German student disappears while visiting Wakayama
A 21-year-old German university student who was in Wakayama City on Monday was reported missing by Wakayama Prefectural Police since October 11.
Claudio Worm may have been involved in an accident or crime, therefore police are asking the public for any information they may have on him.
Worm came on September 21 for a holiday in Japan, according to the prefectural police. According to TV Asahi, he had been residing in Wakayama City since September 30 after initially visiting Tokyo.
He was seen strolling by himself close to Nankai Wakayama City Station in Higashikuramae-cho, Wakayama City, at around 8:30 p.m. on October 11, according to security camera footage.
On Oct 12, Worm’s passport and mobile phone were found in a multi-purpose toilet in the city.
Police said Worm is 170-180 cm tall, of medium build, with blonde or brown hair. At the time, he was wearing a dark long-sleeved shirt, white pants and a dark backpack.
