President Bola Tinubu has prayed for divine intervention to transform Nigeria’s ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity into a driver of prosperity rather than a source of division. Speaking at a dinner with members of his delegation in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, the President asked Almighty Allah to bless the country with peace, harmony, and economic progress.
Tinubu said Nigeria’s diversity should remain a source of strength and national advancement. He urged citizens to embrace mutual understanding, peaceful coexistence, and a shared commitment to the country’s development.
“May Almighty Allah bless Nigeria, convert our diversity into prosperity as a country,” the President said during the gathering.
He also prayed for wisdom, courage, and foresight for Nigeria’s leaders as they work to improve living conditions and steer the nation toward greater development. Tinubu asked for divine protection for Nigerians at home and abroad, and for stronger bonds of brotherhood among citizens. He called for a renewed spirit of patriotism, compassion, and service to the nation.
According to the President, Nigeria’s human and natural resources, combined with the talents, creativity, and enterprise of its people, provide a solid foundation for building an inclusive and prosperous country. He expressed confidence that unity of purpose, faith, and collective determination would help Nigeria overcome its challenges and achieve its potential.
The dinner offered an opportunity for fellowship and reflection among members of the presidential delegation, who had travelled with Tinubu to perform the Umrah pilgrimage. The President left Nigeria on Thursday for the spiritual exercise in Makkah.
At the event, BUA Group Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu spoke on behalf of Nigeria’s business community. He pledged continued support for the President and his administration’s objectives, describing Tinubu as a committed leader working tirelessly for national development.
Rabiu said the business community would support the President “in whatever capacity we can.” He explained that the delegation had held discussions focused on praying for Nigeria’s peace, unity, and prosperity, while also appreciating the President’s passion for the country.
He thanked Tinubu for the opportunity to undertake the pilgrimage, particularly the privilege of entering the Kaaba to offer prayers. Rabiu said the experience allowed members of the delegation to pray not only for themselves and their families, but also for Nigeria at a time when the country needs peace, unity, and prosperity.
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, speaking for his fellow governors, prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and courage for Tinubu. He said the governors would continue to pray for the President and for Nigeria, asking Allah to strengthen Tinubu’s wisdom, boldness, and courage as he makes decisions in the country’s interest.
AbdulRazaq also expressed appreciation for the invitation to join the pilgrimage, calling the spiritual experience memorable. He prayed that Allah would guide the President and help him navigate the challenges facing the nation.
Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, also offered prayers for Tinubu. He asked Allah to grant the President’s personal aspirations and answer his supplications, noting that everyone, regardless of position or achievement, needs divine intervention at some point.
