Liverpool Football Club has confirmed that head coach Arne Slot has left the club with immediate effect, with the process to appoint his successor now underway.
Slot, who arrived in June 2024, guided Liverpool to their 20th league title in his first season and was named League Managers Association Manager of the Year. He also led the club to the Carabao Cup final, the Champions League round of 16 in 2024–25, and the quarter-finals in 2025–26, while securing back-to-back Champions League qualification.
In a statement on Saturday, the club’s owners said the decision was difficult and praised Slot’s contribution, work ethic, and leadership. Liverpool added that he will always be remembered as the coach who delivered the club’s 20th league title and will remain welcome at Anfield.
