Diddy’s Prison Release Date Moved Up to April 2028

Sean “Diddy” Combs may be walking out of federal prison sooner than expected — but not by much.

The 56-year-old disgraced music mogul, currently serving time at Fort Dix federal prison in New Jersey on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, will now be released on April 25, 2028 — roughly six weeks earlier than his previously scheduled June 4 release date, according to Page Six. The adjustment comes after Combs was accepted into a prison drug rehabilitation program last November, which qualified him for a modest reduction in his four-year sentence.

The development comes even as Combs continues to fight his conviction through an ongoing appeal.

A Release Date That Has Moved Both Ways

This is not the first time his release date has been revised — and notably, it has not always moved in his favour. Earlier in his sentence, his release date was actually pushed back from May 8 to June 4, 2028, following a turbulent start to his time behind bars. Reports emerged that Combs had consumed a homemade alcoholic drink — allegedly a fermented mixture of Fanta, sugar, and apples — and had made an unauthorised three-way phone call, both violations of prison rules.

His legal team and representatives swiftly pushed back on the alcohol allegations. “The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false,” a statement posted to his Bad Boy Entertainment X account read, adding that his sole focus was “becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”

Despite the denials, Combs reportedly accumulated several infractions following his transfer to Fort Dix on October 30, 2025.

The earlier release date offers a small reprieve for the once-untouchable hip-hop titan, though with his appeal still pending, the legal chapter of his downfall is far from closed.
