Police officers in Florida narrowly saved a woman from a burning car after an alleged carjacker crashed into her while fleeing with a baby inside another stolen vehicle.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released bodycam footage on Thursday showing the dramatic rescue that unfolded on the night of February 8. According to authorities, suspect Richard Younger forcibly stole a vehicle with a one-year-old in the back seat before officers tracked down the car and initiated a pursuit. During the chase, Younger allegedly rammed into another vehicle, causing it to burst into flames and trapping the female driver.

Officer Almin Residovic sprang into action, pulling the woman from the passenger’s side as her hair burned, then provided immediate medical assistance until paramedics arrived. Meanwhile, other officers safely rescued the one-year-old from the stolen vehicle and took Younger into custody.

Younger faces multiple charges, including carjacking, leaving the scene of a crash, false imprisonment of a child, and attempting to elude police. Authorities said both the woman and the infant are recovering well, though the condition of a 14-year-old who fled from the fiery crash remains uncertain.
