In a July 31 court filing obtained by USA TODAY, Pitt, 62, accused Jolie, 51, of withholding information about her income following their 2016 split. His legal team said Jolie provided financial documents for 2020 and 2021 but refused to disclose records for 2017 through 2019.
The request is the latest development in the former couple’s bitter fight over Château Miraval, the French winery they once jointly owned. Pitt filed the lawsuit in February 2022 after Jolie sold her stake in the business to an investment firm without his consent.
Pitt’s filing also referenced Jolie’s earlier claim that she needed to sell her interest in the estate to achieve “financial independence” from him. The actor’s lawyers appear to be using that statement to support their push for more detailed financial disclosure.
Jolie has previously resisted Pitt’s efforts to obtain more of her private financial information, arguing that the request is unnecessary and overreaching. The case remains unresolved as the legal battle over the winery continues.
