Japan: Man arrested on suspicion of soliciting sexual images from young girl

Shizuoka prefectural police have arrested a 24-year-old nursery school teacher from Tendo, Yamagata Prefecture, on suspicion of coercing a girl to send him nude images of herself, knowing that she was under the age of 13.

Police said Rio Hosoya is accused of asking the girl whom he met through an online game, to take nude photos of herself and send them to him via a social networking site (SNS) in early August last year, Sankei Shimbun reported.

Hosoya and the girl had not met in person, police said.

The incident was discovered when a relative of the girl consulted the police.
