Japan: A 15-year-old child who killed his mother was sent before Sapporo’s family court.

A 15-year-old boy who was detained on suspicion of murdering his 40-year-old mother has been transferred to the Sapporo Family Court by the Sapporo District Public Prosecutors Office. He will be held until November 10.

According to Sankei Shimbun, the youngster called 110 at around 10:20 a.m. on October 7 and claimed to have slain his mother. When police arrived at the Shiroishi Ward residence, they discovered the boy’s mother unconscious and barely breathing. After being brought to the hospital, her death was confirmed.

The youngster informed the police that he had strangled his mother to death, but he hasn’t provided any explanation beyond stating that he didn’t like her. Both of them lived alone.

Police and other relevant parties claim that the youngster had been residing with his father and started living with his mother and sister at the beginning of this year. During the summer, the child consultation center intervened after he had an argument with his mother, and was providing continuous support.
