Trump Announces Christmas Bonuses for U.S. Military Members

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday night that nearly 1.5 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces will receive a special Christmas bonus, calling it a “warrior dividend” in honor of America’s approaching 250th anniversary.

Speaking from the White House in a nationally televised address just days before Christmas, Trump said the payments are already being processed and will soon reach service members across all branches of the military.

“Nobody deserves it more than our military,” Trump said. “And I say congratulations to everybody.”

The president framed the initiative as both a gesture of gratitude and a symbol of national pride, emphasizing his administration’s longstanding commitment to veterans and active-duty personnel. The “warrior dividend,” according to Trump, celebrates the strength, courage, and sacrifice of those who serve to protect the country’s freedoms.

While the White House did not immediately release details about the funding source or the exact amount of the bonuses, Trump described the move as a continuation of his pledge to prioritize America’s armed forces and ensure they are “respected, rewarded, and remembered.”

The announcement quickly drew praise from supporters who applauded the gesture as a welcome morale boost for military families during the holiday season. Others, however, called for more information about how the bonuses will be distributed and financed.

The checks, Trump said, “are already on the way.”
