Rapper Desiigner Arrested in South Carolina on Domestic Violence Charge

Rapper Desiigner, whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III, was arrested Monday in South Carolina on suspicion of third-degree domestic violence, according to the Horry County Sheriff’s Office and records obtained by reporter

The incident allegedly occurred on March 2, when the “Panda” artist reportedly returned home angry, yelling, and throwing his car keys, per the police report.

The alleged victim the mother of his young child told officers that Selby grabbed the keys from her as she tried to leave for the airport to retrieve forgotten luggage, tearing her sweatpants in the process.

She claimed Selby then placed their child in a car seat and threw her to the ground when she intervened, causing minor scratches on her arm and lower back. Police noted the child did not witness the altercation.

The woman mentioned video footage exists but said she couldn’t access the camera system. Selby had left by the time officers arrived.

He was released on $1,500 bond. This marks Desiigner’s second legal issue; in 2023, he faced indecent exposure charges after an incident on an international flight.

His team has not yet responded to requests for comment.
