Morgan Geyser Missing in Madison After Cutting Off Monitoring Bracelet
Morgan Geyser vanished after severing her Department of Corrections GPS monitoring band, and authorities are aggressively looking for her. Geyser, who is well-known for her involvement in the 2014 Slender Man stabbing case, was last observed with an adult acquaintance on the evening of November 22 in Madison, close to Kroncke Drive. On November 23, the Madison Police Department was notified of her absence.
After being released on conditional release earlier this year from years of mental health imprisonment, Geyser had been residing in a Madison group home. She was freed under stringent surveillance, which included wearing a device that tracked her GPS. Authorities and the public are concerned about her quick removal of the bracelet and disappearance.
Police have released recent photos of Geyser and are urging anyone who spots her to call 911 immediately. Given her history and the terms of her release, officials consider her absence a serious matter and are asking the public to remain vigilant.
The 2014 case involved Geyser and a co-defendant who were found not guilty by reason of mental illness after the attempted stabbing of a classmate, driven by their belief in the fictional Slender Man character. Since becoming an adult, Geyser has been under state supervision to ensure public safety and her own well-being.
Updates on the search will be provided as the situation develops. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information regarding Geyser’s whereabouts to come forward.
