Michael Cohen claims NY prosecutors ‘pressured and coerced’ him to testify against Trump

Former President Donald Trump’s ex-lawyer, Michael Cohen, alleged on Friday that prosecutors from both the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the New York Attorney General’s Office “pressured and coerced” him into tailoring his testimony to help secure convictions against Trump.

Cohen, a central witness in two New York cases involving the former president, accused Attorney General Letitia James and District Attorney Alvin Bragg of focusing solely on evidence that supported their narrative. He claimed prosecutors disregarded any testimony that didn’t align with their goal of convicting Trump.

“I felt pressured and coerced to only provide information and testimony that would satisfy the government’s desire to build the cases against and secure convictions against President Trump,” Cohen wrote in a post on Substack.

Fox News Digital reported that both the New York Attorney General’s Office and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office have been contacted for comment.

Cohen’s remarks come as a federal appeals court weighs Trump’s request to move his hush money case to federal court. Cohen previously testified in the 2023 civil fraud trial brought by James, where Trump was found liable for inflating his assets to secure favorable loans. He later testified in Bragg’s criminal case in 2024, which resulted in Trump’s conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records.

Cohen further alleged that James and Bragg used their cases to advance their own political ambitions, claiming they sought recognition as the prosecutors who “took down Trump.
