Great American Family star Cameron Mathison just melted hearts across social media after sharing a touching reunion with his daughter, Leila, in Paris. The actor, beloved for his roles on “General Hospital” and “All My Children,” posted the emotional moment from the City of Lights.
The Eiffel Tower glittering against the night sky opens the Instagram video, which suddenly turns to Mathison strolling along the street and looks up in shock.
From a window above, his daughter can be seen extending her arms in his direction before hurrying down to welcome him. She leaps into his arms as soon as she enters the apartment building entrance, and they embrace for a long time. “Paris is beautiful, but this was the real reason I came #fatherdaughterlove❤️,” Mathison wrote as the description for the photo.
One wrote, “Awww beautiful ❤️ Enjoy your girl dad time xo 😘” while another added, “THIS is so Sweet to see~ :)”
A third supporter commented, “Love this Cam! Great to see you and your daughter having a blast! 🙌❤️”
The warm moment comes just days after Mathison spoke out online to defend his daughter following an upsetting experience related to his “General Hospital” character.
He explained that Leila had stumbled onto a YouTube compilation criticizing Drew Cain, and after reading negative comments, she became emotional.
“This is a Facetime call I got from Leila and I screen recorded the call but I somehow didn’t get the audio,” he explained. “There was so much hate and aggression towards mostly my character but partially me too… and she was really upset and it bothered her… she couldn’t handle it.”
This isn’t the first time Mathison has shared a heartfelt milestone with his daughter. In 2024, he posted photos of Leila dressed for her senior prom, writing:
Leila, I want you to know that you are always on my mind and in my heart… remember no matter where life takes you always know that you are loved beyond measure.”
He added, “You are such an incredible daughter and I’m so proud of the person you have become. Love dad❤️.”
Cameron Mathison and his wife Vanessa share two children — Lucas, born in 2003, and Leila, born in 2006. Vanessa commented on the prom post, writing that she and Mathison are “lucky beyond belief ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
