After being stabbed by an elementary school teacher, an 8-year-old student passes away.
According to numerous news reports quoting police, a teacher at an elementary school in South Korea fatally stabbed an 8-year-old student.
According to Reuters and the Yonhap News Agency, when police arrived at the Daejeon school on February 10, they discovered that both the child and the 40-year-old female teacher had been stabbed.
According to Yonhap, the girl was stabbed in the arm and neck and was later taken to a nearby hospital, where the police declared her dead. Following her absence from an after-school art class, the child was reported missing.
The teacher, who was being treated at the hospital, allegedly admitted to the stabbing while speaking with police, according to Yonhap.
Yonhap reported, citing police, that the teacher had returned to the school last year after taking a leave of absence due to depression. It’s unclear if the woman has been arrested or charged, nor if any motive has been ascertained.
