A U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter carrying three soldiers collided with American Airlines Flight 5342 in midair on Wednesday, January 29, killing 64 people, including the 13-year-old figure skater, according to CNN.
During a press conference on Thursday, January 30, CEO Doug Zeghibe stated that Jinna has been a member of The Skating Club of Boston since 2020.
She was one of 14 American figure skaters who were on the passenger plane. Five other victims, including Jinna’s mother, Jin Han; teenager Spencer Lane and his mother, Christine Lane; and coaches Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova, who represented Russia as world figure skating champions in 1994, were also members of The Skating Club of Boston.
