You people pass judgment, but I don’t. Clapping Back at “Haters,” Serena Williams denies Bleaching Her Skin
Serena Williams called out the “haters” who said she bleached her skin and refuted the claims.
The 43-year-old 23-time Grand Slam champion responded to accusations that she intentionally changed her skin tone during an Instagram Live on Monday, December 2, following the release of a video of herself at a school function alongside her husband Alexis Ohanian and their two kids, Olympia, 7, and Adira, 15 months.
The former athlete spotted the ideal occasion to provide her thoughts on the subject while filming a cosmetics tutorial for her Wyn Beauty (pronounced “win”) company.
As she applied her glam, Williams remarked, “And then I put just that neutral color, that is actually my skin color, and no, for you haters out there, I do not bleach my skin.”
She went on to say, “There is a substance called sunlight, and in that sunlight, you get different colors.”
In the now-viral video from late November, the tennis player revealed that she was assisting at her daughter’s performance and was wearing “stage makeup” at the time of the recording.
