Four days after clocking in, a Wells Fargo employee was discovered dead at their desk. The cause of death was disclosed.
The Wells Fargo employee who was discovered dead at her desk four days after reporting for work has had her cause of death made public.
According to a police statement previously obtained by PEOPLE, Denise Prudhomme, 60, was discovered dead by on-site security at a third-floor workstation at the company’s Tempe, Arizona, headquarters on Tuesday, August 20.
According to Tempe Police, Prudhomme scanned into the facility on Friday, August 16, at around 7 a.m., “and there is no further scan in or out.”
She passed away from “sudden cardiac death in the setting of myocardial fibrosis,” which is the term for scarring of the heart muscles, according to the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner. Her cause of passing away was noted as natural.
An unnamed employee said multiple people claimed to have smelled a “foul odor” in the office, but “passed it off as faulty plumbing,” according to NBC affiliate KPNX. The building has 24/7 security, though most employees work remotely.
In their initial statement, Tempe Police said “the preliminary investigation did not show any obvious signs of foul play” in connection with Prudhomme’s death. read more PEOPLE
