Donald Trump escapes another Assassination attempts

The local sheriff announced on Sunday that a man who was detained at a security checkpoint close to US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s event in California on Saturday faces gun charges after being discovered in possession of loaded guns, several passports, and a phony license plate.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said that his belief that his staff stopped an assassination attempt was “speculation.” According to prison records, the suspect was freed on bond on Saturday.

A federal probe is in progress, a federal official announced on Sunday.

“What we do know is he showed up with multiple passports with different names, an unregistered vehicle with a fake license plate, and loaded firearms,” the sheriff stated Monday afternoon during a press conference. “I truly do believe that we prevented another assassination attempt.”

According to the sheriff’s office, the 49-year-old male, Vem Miller of Las Vegas, was apprehended without incident when sheriff’s officers pulled over him in a black SUV at about 17:00 local time on Saturday. Trump was still not on stage.

According to jail records, Miller was charged with possessing a loaded pistol and was freed on $5,000 bond, or about 7.6 million

“The incident did not impact the safety of former President Trump or attendees of the event,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

The US Attorney’s Los Angeles office, in a statement on its web site on Sunday, also said Trump was not in danger, citing the US Secret Service. The statement added that while no federal arrest had been made, an investigation was ongoing.

Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt in July, when a gunman’s bullet grazed his ear during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. In September, another man was charged with trying to assassinate Trump after Secret Service agents discovered him hiding with a rifle near Trump’s Palm Beach golf course. He pleaded not guilty. Those attempts raised questions about Secret Service security planning and response.

Trump’s rally on Saturday took place in the Coachella Valley, an area known for its annual music and arts festival.
