Jeff Flake endorses Kamala Harris for president: ‘I know of her character
Sen. Jeff Flake, a former Republican, stated on Saturday in an interview that he is supporting Democratic presidential contender Kamala Harris because of her conservative beliefs, not in opposition to them.
Flake, a Republican from Arizona, is endorsing a Democrat for president for the second time in a row, going across party lines. In 2020, he supported President Joe Biden over former Republican President Donald Trump, and in 2016, he cast a third-party ballot instead of voting for Trump.

Just 37 days remain before Election Day, and Flake’s support comes at a critical juncture for the vice president in Arizona. According to polls, Trump and Harris are in a tight race for the presidency, with Trump marginally up and winning on the topics that the majority of voters believe are most important.
The support is a part of Harris’s bigger outreach to Republicans and independents in Arizona who, like Flake, may not share her views on all issues but are repulsed by Trump’s divisive tactics and election denialism.
