Nigeria: Bobrisky sues Verydarkman for ₦1bn over defamation allegations

Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, is a Nigerian crossdresser and social media celebrity. He has launched a ₦1 billion lawsuit against Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, alleging that he defamed him in an audio tape.

The case was revealed on Sunday through Bobrisky’s Instagram account. It alleges that VeryDarkMan published an audio clip produced by AI that unjustly accused Bobrisky of having extramarital affairs with prominent people, including as politicians and law enforcement officers.
Bobrisky’s attorneys said in the lawsuit that VeryDarkMan made unfounded allegations about their client’s connections to politicians and police enforcement, using their client’s reputation and power for personal advantage.

According to the legal declaration, “Our client has informed us that you have continued to exploit his name, personality, and social media influence in your quest for social media stardom.”
