Bobrisky refutes a viral clip and denies delivering N15 million to EFCC investigators in Nigeria.
Popular transvestite Idris Okuneye, better known online as Bobrisky, has refuted a claim that he acceptedbribes made against him by social media influencer Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan.
Bobrisky claimed that some unidentified Economic and Financial Crimes Commission agents took N15 million from him in exchange for dropping money laundering accusations against him in a widely shared audio clip that was made public by VeryDarkMan.
The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, responded to the widely circulated recording in a statement on Tuesday, stating that the Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has directed an urgent inquiry into the situation.
But Bobrisky asserted that he had completed his jail sentence in an Instagram post published on Wednesday morning, denying that he had paid any EFCC official to dismiss the money laundering accusations against him.
The contentious social media star also emphasised that the assertion that he was never incarcerated was untrue and had to be disregarded, branding the widely circulated audio tape as phoney.
“My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording that is circulating on the internet, claiming that I was never in prison and that I paid EFCC 15 million naira,” the writer said. I lied a great deal when I said that I paid any EFCC money. I completed my term and then left. Throw away any incorrect information.
