South Africa: Former minister Naledi Pandor is the new chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Foundation

Naledi Pandor, a former minister of international relations and cooperation, has taken over as the Nelson Mandela  Foundation’s new chair.

 

The foundation declared Previously that Pandor will take over for Professor Njabulo Ndebele, who is leaving her position as board chair.

Since the organisation was founded in 1999 by former president Nelson Mandela, Pandor will only be the third chairperson.

 

On October 1st, Pandor, who concluded his sixth term as an active politician, will formally assume the role.

It follows Ndebele’s retirement after more than a decade as chairperson.

 

“Dr Pandor offers the foundation just what it needs for the next phase of its development. I wish her every success in the role,” said Ndebele, according to the foundation’s statement.  READ MORE
