DJ Cuppy Makes History as First Nigerian to Host Youth Session at UNGA

As the first Nigerian to host a youth session at the UN General Assembly (UNGA), DJ Cuppy has created history. She moderated the Youth Action Day with the topic “The Summit of the Future – Youth Actions Day” during the 2024 UNGA, which was a noteworthy occasion.

Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, commonly known as DJ Cuppy, a prominent disc jockey and the daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, has become the first Nigerian to host the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Cuppy’s session was noteworthy since it was the biggest young assembly in UN Headquarters’ history, underscoring her impact and the significance of youth participation in international debates. She demonstrated her diverse abilities by performing musically in addition to her moderating duties.

This achievement underscores not only Cuppy’s personal milestones but also represents a significant moment for Nigeria on an international platform, emphasizing the role of youth in shaping future policies and actions.

Cuppy also gave a musical performance after her keynote presentation.

Her session was the biggest youth gathering in UN Headquarters history.

Other personalities at the session include the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs and the president of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves.
