After three days of intense earthquakes, the heavily populated suburb of Mpape in the FCTÂ has been overtaken by fear. The region is part of the Bwari region Council.

Another local, Muhammad Ibrahim, originally thought the sound was a bomb detonation since it didn’t sound like the usual noises made by quarry mining, which is something Mpape is well-known for.
Nasiru Ahmad, a former local mine blaster, echoes Ibrahim’s bewilderment by explaining that although stone blasting is obvious, the source of the tremor’s sound is still unknown.
