Nigeria: Gunmen Launch Deadly Attack on Police Headquarters in Anambra, Claiming Life of Officer
Gunmen allegedly connected to separatist organisations opened fire on the Oba Police Divisional Headquarters in Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State, early on Tuesday morning. This was a startling occurrence. A police corporal was killed in the assault, and other policemen and citizens were hurt as well.
Information about the Attack
According to reports, the terrorists broke inside the police building and opened fire in an effort to compromise security. They also launched petrol bombs, which started fires that destroyed a portion of the neighbouring Oba Civic Centre and the police station.
Tochukwu Ikenga, the public relations officer for the Anambra State Police, verified that the joint security forces—which comprise the army and civil defense—are presently carrying out operations in the region in an effort to capture the attackers.

In the aftermath of the attack, a manhunt has been initiated to locate the attackers, who are believed to be part of an armed secessionist group.
