Victor Osimhen’s Transfer Saga: Napoli Exclusion and Chelsea Deal Collapse”

After his proposed move to Chelsea fell through, Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga has taken a drastic turn, and he is now not included in Napoli’s Serie A squad. Following protracted negotiations, the talks broke down because Chelsea’s offer did not live up to Napoli’s expectations. The Nigerian striker, whose transfer fee demands have caused tension in his relationship with Napoli, has voiced discontent. He was strongly linked to both Chelsea and Al-Ahli of the Saudi Pro League.

Chelsea had high hopes for Osimhen at first, as rumours had it that they had reached an agreement on a lucrative contract worth €350,000 per week. Deal collapsed, though, when the club failed to reach Napoli’s €80 million asking price.

Al-Ahli had allegedly expressed interest in Osimhen and even offered him a large contract; but, Napoli’s last-minute rise in price forced the Saudi team to shift their focus to other targets, namely Ivan Toney of Brentford.
Osimhen will now likely stay at Napoli until at least January, when the transfer season reopens for European teams, as a result of these occurrences.

Romelu Lukaku, a new signing for Napoli, took his famous No. 9 shirt from him after he was left out of the team, indicating a big change in his status at the club. The situation has left Osimhen in a precarious position, as he must now compete for playing time with Lukaku under manager Antonio Conte, further complicating his future at Napoli

The ongoing tensions between Osimhen and Napoli highlight the complexities of modern football transfers, where financial demands and player aspirations often clash. As the summer transfer window officially closes for European clubs, all eyes will be on Osimhen to see how he adapts to his current circumstances and whether a future move can be negotiated before the Saudi Pro League’s transfer window closes next week
