The case of a 17-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted by a police officer inside the Ogudu police station has been sent to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, according to the Lagos State Police Command.

This was reported to SaharaReporters on Tuesday night over the phone with Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the Lagos Police Command. He said the command had completed the suspect’s disciplinary report and sent it to the Force Headquarters.

The force headquarters has received the Suspect’s Disciplinary Report and will take further appropriate measures. We are awaiting comments. Please be aware that an active police officer cannot be charged with a crime until they have been fired from their position, according to a police spokesperson.

In another post, the X user said the victim was raped at gunpoint by the policeman after she lodged a complaint about a robbery case to him in July.

The X user wrote: “This is the face of the rapist. His name is OWOLABI AKINLOLU, a Superintendent of Police (SUPOL). He is 56 y/o. The corrupt Nigerian police will never show his face, they’ll try to protect him but it’s our job to make sure this idiot is popular and pays for this despicable act.
