Usher Says Tour Start Was Forced To Postpone Due To Neck Injury; All Three Atlanta Shows Have Been Rescheduled
Usher said on Thursday that he had to postpone the opening night of his “Past, Present, Future” global tour in his hometown of Atlanta due to a neck injury he had earlier this week during preparations.
In addition, he stated today that due to his ongoing recovery, the performances on Friday and Saturday at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena must be rescheduled. December 9–10 and December 12 are the revised dates.
“My hope was that with physical therapy and medical treatment, I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for opening night,” he wrote today on Instagram of his tour kickoff.
“Unfortunately, the injury has not healed yet, and my doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week.”
He added that “the good news” is doctors told him with “appropriate rest and treatment” he will be able to jump back into the tour schedule beginning Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
