After years of building together ;Maya Jama and Stormzy split again

It may be quite difficult to move on after a breakup, especially if it is your second one.

Presenter Maya Jama from Love Islander and British musician Stormzy, actual name Michael Omari, startled their Instagram fans by revealing that they are divorcing.

The famous pair first fell in love in 2014, got back together in August of last year, then broke up in 2019. Many admirers believed that a wedding may be in the not too distant future when they announced their reunion.

However, despite pictures of the couple looking very cosy at Glastonbury Festival in June, it was not meant to be and they issued a joint statement confirming their split.

They said on Instagram, “We’ve been laughing while drafting this because we never, ever in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a break-up.” However, we felt it may be best to for the purpose of clarity and, more significantly, to give us the room and grace we need to be able to traverse this next chapter of our life together peacefully.

This third try took a lot of figuring out, relearning, and unlearning because we were 21 and 20 when we first met, both at the start of our professions, and we grew together for five years before growing apart for five years.
