Nigeria: Borno State Government Denies Allegations Against Governor Zulum’s Son in India

The reports about Governor Zulum’s son killing a Chinese national in India are false and unsubstantiated. The Borno State government has categorically denied these allegations, stating that the governor’s son was neither arrested nor involved in any unlawful activities.

The initial report by Sahara Reporters claimed that Umar Zulum Umara, the governor’s son, had killed a Chinese national during a fight over a woman at a nightclub in New Delhi.

However, the Borno State government has refuted this, stating that the governor’s son had completed his studies in India and returned to Maiduguri before the alleged incident. 

The government has warned Sahara Reporters and other media outlets that published this misinformation to retract their stories and issue an apology, or face legal action. They have emphasized that the governor’s son committed no crime and was not arrested.
